The Fall season is fast approaching and with it fall fashion- hello September issue! Just because stores are filling up with boots & sweaters doesn’t mean it is time to put away summer staples just yet. During this pre-fall transition, I love to incorporate lightweight fall items like this bell sleeve top in a pretty fall hue with my summertime go-t0, denim cutoffs.
Finding a great pair of white denim can be rather tricky. The perfect pair will be soft, but not too sheer. The thinner the fabric the more sheer they will be, which you definitely do not want! I absolutely love this pair, the destructed details of this pair, and these are on major sale.
I adore the eyelet detail of this top. I bought it in store & was so excited to see it finally available online! It sold out really quickly, but is now back in stock & on sale. Sizes are very limited, but is also available in all white – so pretty! This top is similar & under $20! I also found this adorable romper version & these amazing matching shorts.
Thanks for stopping by!
As I was writing my daily to-do list in my (super cute!!) agenda today, I realized that my blog 1 year anniversary is quickly approaching! It is hard to believe that this time last year I was living in San Francisco, working full-time for Levi’s & getting everything organized to start this adventure that is blogging. I was very hesitant & had a million reasons (excuses) not to pursue something that I felt passionate about. I worried of what people I knew personally would think & if anyone would actually follow along. But I finally disregarded all the self-doubt and put my heart & soul into launching Girl About Town. I started this journey for myself & every day I am happy that I did.
Summer has officially arrived and so has the heat! Off the shoulder tops in lightweight fabrics have been my go to as of late. I love that I can easily dress them up or down & pair with any bottom. I especially love OTS tops with full sleeves or ruffle details. They add just the right amount of a feminine touch.
Tunic style tops are one of my favorite silhouettes to wear for a variety of reasons. Firstly, I love that they are versatile. A piece that can be worn multiple ways means it will get tons of wear year round. Tunics are also perfect for those transitional months as seasons change and work great for layering.
I love the crochet detailing on this tunic top from PinkBlush Boutique, a trendy women’s online boutique offering stylish clothing at affordable prices. I paired it with denim and my favorite new booties, but plan on wearing it as a dress as well for warmer days.
PinkBlush currently has so many adorable tunic styles I am loving as well as an amazing dress selection. And if you are a mama to be or know someone that is expecting, you should have a look at their maternity section! Many of the styles can be worn after baby which makes shopping more fun! Truthfully, I am eyeing some of the ‘maternity’ styles just because I like items that are flowing and comfortable.
I have partnered with PinkBlush to give one lucky reader of Girl About Town a $50 Gift Card! All you have to do to enter is comment on this post with your email address. Don’t forget to follow me and PinkBlush Boutique on Instagram as well for an extra entry. Winner will be selected at random and announced 3/1. Good Luck!!
As I write this it is pouring rain in LA and I am rather happy about it. There is something so calming about listening to the pitter patter of rain on the sidewalk outside. Makes me want to snuggle up on the couch with some tea and a good book. Here’s to hoping that winter stays around a while longer although I highly doubt it. While it is here, I am going to make the most of these chilly days by wearing some staple items I have been living in. Over the knee boots, leather leggings, and ponchos are a few of my favorite items for winter. Hoping to get a little more wear out of them before Spring officially arrives!
February, the month of love, has arrived. A little more quickly than I had anticipated! February always inspires me to play with pinks and reds. Both are colors I don’t typically gravitate towards- although I am loving the color of the year, rose quartz! Seeing these shades everywhere during this time of year makes me want to add a pop of red to my look. If I’m not feeling quite brave enough to wear a new color head to toe, I like to try it with an accessory or a new shade of lipstick.
Between moving, the holidays, and traveling it has been a whirlwind past few months. I have actually loved being so busy recently, but am looking forward to getting back into my daily routine (and a lot more blogging!). One thing I want to work on in the new year is taking time to be present and to really experience everything around me. With so much of our lives being shared online and via social media it can be difficult to take a step back to focus on enjoying the moment instead of only capturing it. I hope to find a happy and healthy balance in the coming year. Another goal I have is to shop less and wear the pieces I already own more. Easier said than done, but I hope to inspire others to do the same.
In my efforts to wear more and shop less, I have been reaching for my favorite basics. I love that these pieces can be worn casual or dressed up. Denim is a basic that looks instantly dressed up with a pair of heels. Here I paired my favorite boyfriend jeans with nude pumps for a classic look. This surplice top is so soft and comfortable- I wish I owned it in more colors! This look would be perfect for a casual valentines date night! What are some of your favorite basics to dress up?
